Monaco driver Charles Leclerc is happy that Ferrari is likely to benefit from the new aerodynamics rules. Starting next season, teams with lower results in the championship will have more time to study aerodynamics.
Ferrari is currently ranked sixth in the championship, and for the rest of the season, the team seems unlikely to make more progress. This means that Ferrari will have more time to develop aerodynamic kits compared to its main competitors Mercedes and Red Bull.
"I think this rule is to try to re-adjust the order to help those struggling teams. In fact, we are currently struggling, so this obviously can help us to some extent." Leclerc said.
Leclerc admitted: He would rather fight for victory, just like he did in 2019. "I would rather be able to fight for higher results this season, but that's the truth. So now I hope we can use this advantage and work hard to change our current struggle."
